Dino-Mite Layout

My Three Year Old Grandest Daughter, Anna Lee, just loves dinosaurs.  Recently I knit her a dinosaur hat that she has been wearing everywhere.  She just looks so cute in it, I made one for her 6-year old cousin, Lexi.  I will be putting a picture of both the girls in there hats on this page, playing with their dinosaurs!

I used two files from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I used the Dino-mite Title and also the coconut trees from the Zoo Animal set.

Here's a peek at that dinosaur hat I made for Anna.

I will be adding these hats to my knitting site www.pattilynncreations.com soon....but if you are interested in one, I have an introductory price of $15 for the month of  September.  Here are the color variations:

These are shown in child size...they can be make in infant, toddler and child sizes.  You can email me if you are interested in more information.  Patti Ross - jprossfam@gmail.com

Bee-utiful Summer Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome back to the 2nd day of this Bee-utiful Summer Blog Hop.  Hope everyone had time to play along with us yesterday, these talented ladies sure did a great job.  If you came from Diana's blog you are in the right place.  If you happened to stop by to visit and would like to start at the beginning of the hop, please start with Lisa's blog.

For my project, I made a two page layout using the brand new Artbooking cricut cartridge from Close to My Heart and Close To My Heart Florentine paper.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cartridge.  You select the size that you want for your layout and all the elements for that page are cut portionally for that page, no guessing on size of the photo mats,  or the titles - so easy to use.

Make sure to comment on each blog along the way for a chance to win some incredible prizes!!!! If you want to know more about the new artbooking cartridge at Close to My Heart...please go to my online CTMH link. www.pattiross.ctmh.com

Bee-utiful Summer Blog Hop

Here is the blog button for this hop!

Welcome to the first day of the Bee-utiful Summer Blog Hop!! If you just came from Diana's Blog you are in the right place. If you happened to just stop in and would like to start at the beginning, please go to Lisa's Blog. You are going to find a lot of great inspiration on your journey! We also have a lot of sponsors, so please leave a comment on everyones blog for a chance to win.

For my project, I made a layout using my Cricut, the new Close To My Heart Artbooking Cartridge and  Close To My Heart Papers.

This is the first of a two page layout using the new Artbooking cartridge.  I absolutely love this cartridge.  Not only does it do those really cool overlays (yes, even 12 x 12) but it cuts the mats, the wording - EVERYTHING!  I love how this came together.  Check back tomorrow for page two!

Here is the page from the artbooking cartridge that I used.  As you can see there are still lots of elements I didn't choose to use and even some that aren't here.  The lettering squares were the photo mat cut-outs!  Did I mention I LOVE this new cartridge?  Wait til you see the mini-albums!!!!

Make sure to comment on each blog along the way for a chance to win some incredible prizes!!!!  If you want to know more about the new artbooking cartridge at Close to My Heart...please go to my online CTMH link.  www.pattiross.ctmh.com

CTMH Stamp Of The Month Cards "Sweet Life"

I love the July Stamp Of The Month "Sweet Life" and wanted to share two cards I made with it.

I love making my own background papers with the sentiments on this stamp set.  Large or small - they both work well.  I used the new alcohol based markers and am pleased with how my first attempts at coloring came out.

This stamp set can be purchased for just $5.00 with an order of $50 or more in close to my heart products.  Here is a look at the whole stamp set.

You can order this stamp set, as well as any close to my heart products at www.pattiross.ctmh.com

A special for my followers.  I have four June Stamps of the Month I will sell for $5 plus shipping to the first four people who comment that they want the stamps.  Check out my ctmh page to see what the stamp set was for June!

For my project, I created two layouts.  Here is the first:

"Hello Sunshine" is a paper piecings file from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I just love these happy little bugs!  I used the "Chantilly" paper pack from Close To My Heart and buttons, ribbon and accents from Close To My Heart.

My second layout, also features a paper piecing file from Paper Piecings By Nikki called "Spring Has Sprung".  The TeddyBear with umbrella was a freebie on her site - and is now just .50 cents!    I used the 'chantilly' paper pack from Close To My Heart again, and added some cute little journalling tags along the edge.  I think layout is a favorite of mine!

Gone fishing layout

I just downloaded the "Gone Fishing" file from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I had to use it on a scrapbook page.  This is what I came up with.

My Mother-In-Law passed away last year from lung cancer.  She was 85 years old and it was the first year she had ever gone fishing.  Her care givers bought her a fishing license and took her fishing.  I want to put her license and the picture of her fishing on this page.  She was so proud that she was the only one who caught any fish!

Recipe Book Page

Good Morning!  As most of you know, I have a slight obsession with yorkies.  Two of my yorkie children, Rascal and Biscuit are full-blooded yorkies and my Trixie is a shorky. (shitzu-yorky mix)  One of the things I do for them is to make their doggy bone treats from scratch.

This is the recipe book layout I made for that very recipe. I will add the recipe and my pups pictures and then add this to my book.

I used the Puppy Love file from Paper Piecings By Nikki to create this page and my Martha Stewart punches and some ribbon I had in my stash.  Stay tuned for more recipe pages!!!!

Thanks for taking a peek!

You can get this file at www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com

Fun Mini Album

Welcome to another Close To My Heart Wednesday - and I should also add, Silhouette Cameo Wednesday as well.

This is the first of two mini albums I made with the Close To My Heart "Flirty" paper pack and the coordinating chipboard pieces.
Front of second album
Back of second album
This is the second of the albums.  I used one "Flirty" paper pack and it made two albums.  For the album, I used a mini-album pattern from the Silhouette store - and cut each page out two times. Then I cut the front and back page out using chipboard and my cameo.  I dug into my hoard and used lots of fun embellishments, along with embellishments from Close To My Heart.  I love that you can use all those little bits and pieces you've saved.

Here's a peek at some of the interior pages:

There wasn't any waste with this paper pack.  I used every little bit.  I stored any scraps I had left over to use when I add the photos and things to the pages!

If you'd like to take a look at the paper packs that are available - you can see them on my online store

Silhouette Supplies - New Layout

Paper Piecings By Nikki is now your one stop shopping place for piecings and supplies for your silhouette.  I haven't found a cheaper place to buy supplies anywhere.

Recently I upgraded my cameo software to the Designer Edition.  If you buy from the Silhouette site, you will pay $49.   I bought it at Paper Piecings By Nikki store, and only paid $31.50!!!!   The up-grade was SO worth it.  I can now print and cut svg files so simply!  And...blades and mats are cheaper than anywhere else.  If you are looking to buy a cameo...Nikki's price is $255.00  Much cheaper than anywhere else!

This is my first layout made with my upgraded software.  I printed it and cut it on textured cardstock and then created this cute layout!

I used some Martha Stewart punches, some stickles and a little bling....and I'm really pleased with how this page came out.

Make sure you check out www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com for all your paper piecings and silhouette needs.  AMAZING prices!!!

IT'S VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Happy Valentines Day!    Hope you are all enjoying some homemade love.  Here in the backwoods of Cornville, Maine (Yes, there is a Cornville) our day is filled with love.  Our beautiful Granddaughter, Lexi brought us a box of chocolates and this adorable creation:
I thought this was such a special gift.  She made this with her Mom.  Now it will become a scrapbook page and one day she will laugh at how small her hands were.

My wonderful Hubby, who has the best of intentions and very little art ability, went down to my studio and created a valentines for me.  I think he did really well!

Here's a peek at my card I made for him using the Close to My Heart January stamp of the month set.

I'm trying to do more with 'coloring' and markers...this came out 'ok' but I can only improve with time.

What do these all have in common?  Well, they were all made from the heart!

Whether you go to the store and buy expensive things, or you make a card from scraps - Whether you buy into the whole "Valentines Day" holiday or choose to ignore it...I hope you will all take time today to let the people closest to you know they are loved.  Just picking up the phone and saying, "I'm thinking of you." can mean the whole world to someone.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!!!!

I loved creating this layout - the piecing was so much fun to create.  I just love that little cat...even though I am allergic in real life.  I have a cameo, and since all of Nikki's piecings come with file extensions for hand cutters, paper piecers, svg's, scal, etc...it's easy to find one that will work with your machine.

Here's a peek at the full file: (PSSSSSSSST - It's only .99 cents!)

Make sure you check out all the stops on our hop today - and go to Paper Piecings By Nikki  to get your freebie.  Once you get the freebie and create your project, make sure you enter it in our Facebook Fan Page Challenge.

The winner from our last hop, that receives the paper piecing and card from me is:

Pat N.

Please email me at jprossfam@gmail.com and give me your full name and mailing address and I will get those right out to you.

This time I will be giving away this piecing to one lucky follower and commenter on my blog.

Thanks for hopping along with us today!!!
