Two new layouts - I'm on a crafting roll

I have been throwing myself into scrapbooking lately.  I tend to do quick and easy cards, but lately I have had to get some scrapbook pages done, before I am totally buried in pictures.  Today I made another layout using Paper Piecings By Nikki's Campin' Crazy file.

I just love this little sleeping bear.  I added some "liquid glass" to the lantern and it looks just like the glass globe.  You can get "Liquid Glass" from my Close To My Heart page....www.pattiross.ctmh.com

Next, I did this adorable rainy day layout.  The weather here in Maine has been very wet and cold.  This will be perfect for pictures of my grand daughters playing with their umbrellas in the rain.

Of course, I used the amazing Kristal Andrew's Design Stamps for my stamping.  I used the "All About Animal Set for the "You Quack Me Up" because there isn't anything quite as funny as my grandest girls with umbrella's.  And, the "Positive Thoughts" stamp set for my other two sentiments.  I just love how Kristal's stamps fit on these piecings.  Here's a look at these two sets.

Now, Kristal has released a few new sets.  They are amazing and I am stalking my mailbox, waiting for my order to arrive.  Here's a peek!

There are STILL a few new sets in the works....shhhhhhhhhhh!!!!   Stay tuned for the amazing previews!

Campin' Crazy Scrapbook Layout - Day 2

Welcome back to another Campin' Crazy Layout.  I am having too much fun with this file.  I hope everyone took advantage of the one day sale yesterday and got their copy of this file at Paper Piecings By Nikki.

If you missed my layout yesterday, please scroll down and take a peek.  Here is my project for today:

I love this little confused bear holding his compass.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I am terribly directionally challenged.  I can't find my way out of my backyard sometimes.  Now, considering I live in the backwoods of Maine, you can see how this might be a problem.  No, I don't know how to use a compass, and that is really sad, considering I am married to a retired Maine State Game Warden.  The good news is, if I do get lost, I know to just sit tight and he will come looking for me sooner or later.

This layout was lots of fun.  I'm really getting some mileage out of this file and I will have another layout for you tomorrow.  Please leave me a comment and let me know where I can come visit you!

Now for my project...

I am so pleased with how my page turned out....I just need to add the pictures and the journaling and it will
be totally done.  Now, here's my grand-daughters:

Lexi had so much fun with this piecing.  She loved adding all the accents to they eyes and noses.  When it came to her super sized 'smore', she said, "Nana, I gave him a marshmallowy delicious mouth."  There is a girl who knows her smores!!!!

Please leave a comment and stop by tomorrow for another camping layout using this amazing piecing file!  Don't forget to take advantage of Nikki's amazing sale today!

Getting Cricky Design Team Posting

Happy Friday Everyone.  It is my extreme privilege to bring you today's project here at Getting Cricky.  I can't begin to tell you how much fun it is to be a part of this amazingly talented design team.  My fellow Design Team Sisters ALWAYS inspire me and challenge me to try new things.  I wanted to share a cute little card I made using "All About Animals"stamp set.

I love using Kraft paper for my cards.  Especially those that have 'outdoorsy critters' on them.  This little squirrel paper piecing can be found at Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I had so much fun making her and the little nut she is clutching.  Kristal's "NUTS ABOUT YOU" sentiment is from "All About Animals" and stamps perfectly right on her tail. I love that Kristal's stamps fit on most of the cricut piecings or paper piecings  that I use.   I'm really pleased with how she came out.

Now...K. Andrew Design Stamps has come out with a brand new stamp set called, "More Food For Thought."  If it had arrived in time, the saying would have been, "What a Nut."  I have been stalking my mailbox and waiting for my delivery.  If you haven't had a chance to see "Guy Talk" and "Southern Sayings", two more new sets - or the bakers twine (100 yards for $5), you don't know what you are missing.  Make sure you stop by and stock up on these new stamps and the twine, while they are in stock!

Thank you so much for taking a peek at my project for today.  Please leave me a comment, I'd love to come visit you!  Until next time,

Happy Crafting, Stamping, Piecing Fun.....Patti

Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky

Disney is the word today for the Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky.  For my project, I used Jake and The Never Land Pirates and Kristal Andrew's "Pirate Tales and Fish Scales" stamp set!

My five year old grandest daughter and I made this card together.  It was very simple and she had fun putting the pop dots on the back and gluing everything down.  Sometimes when you are working with kids, it's the simple things that they can be successful at immediately, that give them the most joy - and you the lesser stress. She made this card for her cousin's birthday.  Of course, I had to listen to her saying "Party on the poop deck" all day long!

If you have kids, this is one of the 'must have' sets of stamps to have.  We use this set and the companion set

"Pirate and Mermaid Party", all the time.  I find these images stamped EVERYWHERE in my house.  Really.

Thanks so much for taking a peek at my project today.  Please make sure you leave a comment and a way for me to come visit you too!

"Nuts About You" Scrapbook Layout

I was finally able to spend some time in my studio today and work on a scrapbook page.  It felt amazing!  Since I had been thinking about this page for awhile, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted it to look like and I'm really pleased with the results.

I used a wood-grain background paper from a DCWV stack.  The paper pieced squirrel is from "A Bunch Of Nuts" by Paper Piecings By Nikki.  It seemed to be the perfect thing for these pictures of my Grandest-Daughter that were taken in the park.  The sentiments came from K. Andrew Design Stamps "All About Animals" and "Hoot-a-Accessories".  Here's a close up of the little acorn with "crack me up" stamped on it!

If you go to K. Andrew Design Stamps and place an order, you can use the code "newship" and receive free shipping.  PLUS, Kristal is releasing a few new sets!  "Guy Talk", "Southern Sayings" and "More Food For Thought."  Make sure you check them out and take advantage of free shipping right now!

Check out Paper Piecings By Nikki, also.  She just released a new Lego piecing set, with the most adorable bear in overalls.  If  you purchase this new file, you also get her adorable Monster Bear file with it.  These monster bears are one of my favorites and are featured all through my granddaughters albums.

Thanks so much for taking a peek at my project today.  The Design Team at Getting Cricky is having a Summertime Hop tonight, starting at 9PM (EST).  Make sure you check that out for some amazing inspiration.

Mix It Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mix It Up Blog Hop brought to you by the Paper Piecings By Nikki Design Team.  Two weeks ago, part of our amazing and talented design team inspired you with ways to mix and match Nikki's awesome patterns.  This time, the rest of the team is going to toss it up a bit and show you how you can mix and match patterns - using different patterned and textured paper.

Since I am your first stop on the hop, you are in the right place.  Sit back and enjoy - hop on through and let the design team inspire you.  Remember to leave each of the ladies a little bloggy love for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from Paper Piecings By Nikki.

This is going to be a challenge for some (all) of us!  Mixing and matching patterned paper isn't always easy - and I have to admit failing a time or two.  BUT, isn't that the fun of paper piecing and scrapping?  Testing our limits and trying new things?  So without further rambling, here is my project:

For my card I used Nikki's "Double Trouble" set.  I just love the look on these cats faces!  You just know they are up to no good.

One of my favorite techniques is to go to my scrap box of patterned paper and with my 1" square punch, punch out squares.  I ink around the edges of each square and then arrange them into a 'quilt'.  Then I glue them to a backing piece.  I use my marker and 'x' between each block and faux stitch around the edges.  Before attaching to my card base, I run it through the cuddlebug for an over-all quilted look.  You are not only mixing patterned pieces, but texturing the whole piece.  The cat was attached with pop dots to make it stand out.

Once again, I used  "All About Animals" stamp set from Kristal Andrews.  It's the perfect sentiment for this card.
If you scroll down after this post, you will see the companion card I made with this same piecing file.  I'm sure you will chuckle.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my Mix It Up project.  Your next stop will be: Linda

Cat-astrophe card

Good Morning and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you Mom's out there. Patti Ross here with the Getting Cricky post for today.

For my card, I used a really adorable paper piecing from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I don't own a cat - but this little piecing just cracked me up.  I used my embossing folder and gently inked it for some contrast.  Added some stickles to make that fish look even more irresistible.  Of course, the amazing Kristal Andrews ALWAYS has the perfect sentiment!  The "CAT-astrophe" from All About Animals was the perfect sentiment for this card.  It is such an honor to be a part of this incredible design team.  These ladies are so talented and they constantly inspire me to try new things.

I rarely do the same card more than once - but I think I might make another one and put another fish in the cat's mouth!  With the face on that cat and the saying "Dreams do come true" from Kristal's "Of Mice and Lil' Men" stamp set, it will be just as cute....   Or perhaps I'll raid my hubby's tackle box for 'dull' hook and fishing line and put that in the cat's mouth and the sentiment "Challenges are just opportunities disguised" from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set.    If you are lucky enough to already have the All About Animals Stamp set, you know there are a lot of good cat sentiments on that -  "Paws-itively", "Purrfect" ,"Smitten Kitten", "  With Kristal's stamps you are limited only by your imagination.

While I'm not really a 'cat' person, I have lots of friends who are and I had so much fun with this card.  If I've inspired you to create your own "All About Animals" creation, please stop by the Getting Cricky Facebook Page and post your own creation!  We just love to see what you're doing with Kristal's stamps.  I love being part of this community of inspiration!

If you haven't heard, Kristal is releasing two more amazing stamp sets....with more to come!   Here's a peek at what they look like:

Thanks so much for taking a look at my project for today.  Have a creative day!

Birthday Card

Today I made a really adorable birthday card with the new Birthday file at Paper Piecings By Nikki.  This file is so much fun to work with. There are so many different elements to utilize.  I love that her piecings lend themselves to both card making and scrapbooking.

I used "Birthday" stamp from K. Andrew Design Stamps - "Coffee and Tea for You and Me" stamp set.

I am blessed to be on two amazing design teams. Both these companies are owned by amazing women.  Please take a look at Paper Piecings By Nikki and Getting Cricky - to see lots of other inspiration!

Please leave me a message and if you do - let me know where I can come visit you too. Thanks!!!

Birthday Card

I am so honored to be part of the amazing Paper Piecings By Nikki Design Team.  We recently had a paper piecing swap - and were challenged to make a birthday card with the piecing we received from our partner.  My partner was, Michelle Rositzky and she sent me the most adorable little alien guy from Nikki's "You Got a Friend in Me" set.   Here is my birthday card.

I am also quite honored and privileged to be part of the Design Team at Getting Cricky.  I was lucky enough to have the new "Of Mice and Lil' Men" Stamp Sets which had the PERFECT sentiment for this birthday card.
Here's a peek at that stamp set.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my project today - If you'd like to participate in our next piecing swap, please 'join' us on facebook - Paper Piecings By Nikki.  We're sure to have another one real soon!
