FLAUNT IT FRIDAY'S CHALLENGE #9 - Paper Pups
This weeks FLAUNT IT FRIDAY challenge is to use the paper pups cartridge - and if you don't have that one....(which I don't) to use something similar. I used Four Legged Friends, the Cricut Lite cartridge - that I am borrowing from my wonderful sister. I cut the dog and cat at 3" and pop-dotted them onto some scraps. I stamped the word love on the red background and added some stickles in the eyes and collar - and some puffy heart stickers on the hearts. Thanks for taking a look at my entry!!!
HOLY CRICUT CHALLENGE #4 - Blue, Green and Yellow
My super wonderful sister was chosen as a member of the design team at Holy Cricut. You can go here: http://www.lindascreativity.blogspot.com/ to see her first challenge submission. The Challenge was a SUMMER THEME in which you could use blue, green and yellow only. This is my submission.
I used the Create-a-Critter cartridge and went through my scraps to find this striped paper. Hope you like it!

PRE-PRINTED CARDS CHALLENGE - Linda's Creativity
The challenge at http://www.lindascreativity.blogspot.com/ was to use a pre-printed card base and turn it into a finished card. Well, I have had a HUGE box of these pre-printed cards that just never "spoke" to me - and since this is my wonderful and talented sisters very FIRST challenge, I decided I had to be the first one to post. (If I'm randomly drawn as a winner of her blog candy...I will have her re-draw the name)
I took this pansy card from Paper Pizazz and went through my scrapbox and found some papers to coordinate with it - then looking into a book of velum sayings, I spotted the perfect one for the card. After adding a ribbon and a cut out butterfly and I think it is one of the prettiest cards I've done. I may have to dip into that box of cards more often!!!
Would love to have you join Linda's challenge - would love to see what everyone else has come up with!!! And if you're not a follower - please become one - I think you'll be surprised at what the future holds!!!!

FLAUNT IT FRIDAY challenge of the comical kind...
http://flauntitfridays.blogspot.com/ challenge is to make something from the Give A Hoot cartridge - The cut is the bear in the trashcan from page 61. Well, I wasn't real happy with the way my bear came out - especially with his pink bling "disturbed/dazed" eyes. But then it hit me....and I couldn't stop laughing.
Don't know how many of you remember when Robyn over at The Pink Stamper got a pink trash can in the mail - lots of pink trash cans, actually. Well, it suddenly occured to me what a bear in Robyn's pink trashcan might look like with all the pink scraps falling out - it would definitely be crazed pink! So I decided to keep this card - stamp it with a crazy "Friends" stamp and the inside will say," ...like you no matter what kind of mess you find yourself in..."

Sympathy Card
Sympathy Cards seem to be the hardest cards to create and to send. Hard to create, because they are sometimes soaked in tears of sadness.
I created a sympathy card for some dear friends - and found myself repeating, "keep it simple" over and over.
This is my "simple" sympathy card.
I didn't use any precise measurements or formula here. I went to my scrap box and pulled out some pieces that I had used recently that seemed "sincere". Then I used my Walk in the Garden cartridge to cut out some flowers. I hung them from simple pegs, that I used an ordinary paper hole punch to cut out. I sewed some embroidery thread through to tie them on and give the card another dimension. Then I added my "Thinking of You" stamped sentiment.
A shot of the inside of the card - "with deepest sympathy" and another flower stem for color. Super simple but loaded with sincerity.

Jitterbuggin' Challenge - Brown and ?
I'm joining the challenge at http://www.jitterbugginchallenge.blogspot.com/ . The rules are to use brown and one other color. You can use all the white, cream and brown you want - but only one other color - and you have to add bow. Well, I added pink to my challenge project - and the bow has pink and brown on it too! This 3-D card uses a cut from the Sentimentals Cartridge. I just got this cartridge and it's the first time I've used it. I just love this butterfly - and the saying "Fly". I have a friend who needs a bit of encouragement - so this will be going to her. I cut the butterfly at 3" and fixed her to a cream colored layer that I embossed with a cuddlebug folder. I added a bow and some bling! Thanks so much for taking a peak!

Created for Getting Cricky Challenge
This was a challenge at http://kandrewdesigns.blogspot.com/ to create anything you want with birds on it. Well, I have been wanting to use this border from the Winter Frolic Cartridge and it seemed like a perfect opportunity to do so. I made this card for a dear friend who just underwent a mastectomy - to let her know I was thinking and praying for her. The outlook is good - yet the road will be rough. I hope if you happen upon my entry and like it, you'll let me know - and perhaps create a card for someone who may need a little pat on the back this week. Thanks so much for taking a peek!
THE PINK STAMPER Blog Hop
This was a fun blog hop. You start at The Pink Stamper, and you hop to each stop, collecting a word along the way. When you get all the words (in order), you will know what the challenge is! Then you can make a project and post on The Pink Stamper and hopefully everyone will continue to hop on through and take a look! For my entry I used the Hello Kitty Cartridge (my sisters - thanks Linda!) and my very first and favorite set of Pink Stamper Stamps....(thanks again sister Linda). The inside will read, "When you learn to watch out for the pits." I have a good friend in mind for this card, so as soon as the stickles dry - it will be in the mail to her. Thanks for looking!!!!!

WINTER WARMIES Challenge
The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut was to create something with winter wear. This winter, I knit my granddaughter hats and mittens in pink and green. Using a bit of the green yarn, woven around the hat and mittens, I created this card! The hat and mittens are from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge - and the paper from a Christmas DCWV pad. I cut the mittens and hat in two colors at 3" and then cut away parts and glued them on the base hat/mittens. The card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" . The first layer is cut 1/4" less than the base card, the second and third layers are cut 1/2" smaller. Let it Snow was from a stamp set of the month I received. I added a few dots of glitter to give it some shine!
Please leave a comment and the address of your blog so I can visit you! Thanks!

"GLITTERMANIA" - Cooking with Cricut Challenge
Cooking With Cricut's challenge is "Glittermania" asking us to "Glitz it Up". This is my entry.
A card of encouragement! I used a tri-fold card from my new Picturesque cartridge - cut at 5 1/2". Then I used the Hello Kitty cartridge to cut out this cute kitty and baloons at 3". I used glitter on the baloons and a soft black stamp "I Believe In You." It's like handing someone a beautiful boquet of baloons and gently whispering, "I believe in you." The card is closed and tied together with coordinating ribbon.
Would love to know what you think - please leave me a message and the address of your blog so I can come visit you - as always new followers are PRECIOUS! (and appreciated)

Country Life Cartridge Scrapbook Layout
"When you're weary, and you can't sleep...count your blessings instead of sheep and you'll go to sleep...counting your blessings...."
Love that song and how this page came out. This is one of our two grandest daughter blessings - Baby Anna. I used the Country Life Cartridge and cut the sheep out at 3 1/4". I seperated two sets to put the single sheep and then cut the saying out at 2 1/4". A scrapbook page I just might frame!
Thanks everyone for looking - I really appreciate your comments.

Just For Fun Card - "You Quack Me Up"
I made this card for my grand-daughter, Lexi. She loves getting mail and she will definitely love getting this from me.
I used the "Just Because" cartridge and cut the card at 5 1/4" and used only scraps from the scrap box!
Hope you enjoy!
Hello Kitty Scrapbook Layout
Hello Kitty Cartridge |
My beautiful daughter-in-law went to Haiti with her college class to work in a clinic this week. She left behind her husband and her 5 month old daughter. It was hard to pry her away from them both, and she left in tears. When I saw this Hello Kitty challenge, I thought, "WOW, the perfect scrapbook page." Even though she's just left, we can't wait for her to get home!!!

Thanks to Mary from CARDZTV - Lemons...
Mary from Cardztv had a video on a "When Life gives you Lemon's" Card. Well, it was so darn cute, I had to make one of my own. Here is my version!
I used the JUST BECAUSE cartridge and cut the card on page 46 to 5 1/2". I then cut an oval at 4" and another at 3 1/2". The lemon on page 73 was cut at 3" and I inked around the edges with a dark green. I used three little diamond "bling" stones to offset the lemon - and "When Life hands you lemon's" stamp from My Pink Stamper!!! I think it came out just adorable!

SNOW challenge
Momo's challenge this week was to create something with a snow theme. Also Fantabulous Cricut's challenge was to make something snow related, so I'm entering this in both!
I wanted to create something using my new Gypsy - so I made a simple card. Using the Picturesque cartridge and made a tri-fold card cut at 5 1/4". I thought the edges looked like snowflakes! Then I cut a piece of white card stock at 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 and embossed it with the cuddlebug snowflake folder. Again to the Gypsy and Gypsy Wandering Cartridge, I cut "snow" at 3" and used purple stickles to glitter the snowflakes and add dots to the edge of the card. I added a stamped saying, "Snow makes everything magical".
I think the card was a success for the first time using my gypsy! Thanks for taking a peak!
