Beary Cute Fall Card

I had so much fun making this fall card! I used the Fall Bears piecing file from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  The only problem I had was trying to figure out which piecing to make first!

Paper Piecings By Nikki Design Team will be hopping with a FALL CELEBRATION Blog Hop, this Saturday!  Please hop along with us and link up your own fall celebration project - for a chance to win a Guest Design spot in our November hop!

Inspirational Card

Paper Piecings By Nikki has come out with the cutest files lately.  Pooh, Mickey, and soon to come Tigger type files that are so darn cute.  Little boys and girls dressed up as these famous disney characters.  Today I want to share with you a file called, "Quiet as a Mouse".  Here's what I came up with:

I used Kristal Andrew Design Stamps "Positive Thoughts" for the sentiment.  It was PERFECT for this card!!!!  "You are the Weaver of your Own Dreams".  How often do we need to be reminded of that????

Please take a minute to go to Nikki's store - www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com and check out all her new designs....She will be releasing a new one today with the amazing "tigger" as inspiration...I can't wait for you to see it!!!!

Fall Layout

I want to share this really cute fall layout I made. You know how every so often you make something that really comes out nice and you are extra proud of it?  Well, this is my 'extra proud of' project.  So without further babbling, here it is:

I used a couple of files from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  The first one is girl and the fence.  It's called, "Falling For You".  The second is "Happy Fall Crows", and I used the crow, the basket of apples and the leaves from that one.  If you look closely at the little girl, I used pop-dots on a couple of the leaves she's holding to really make them 'pop'.  Here's a close up of my little girl:

After I got this layout done, my amazing daughter-in-law posted some pictures of my 2 year old granddaughter picking apples...I think this picture is perfect for this page.

Sometimes things just go together so perfectly, you surprise yourself!

I'm entering this in http://www.myshericrafts.blogspot.com/2012/09/my-sheri-crafts-challenge-095-its.html for their challenge to use a pumpkin or an apple.

Good Morning!  Paper Piecings By Nikki is having a challenge on their facebook page.  It's to create a scarecrow project using more than one of her files!  Since I am part of this amazing design team - I had to try my hand at this challenge.  So without further explanation (or appologies)....

If you haven't checked out Nikki's amazing new fall files - please do.

Can you guess which two of her files I used to create this card?  If you want to play along with us, please head on over to her facebook page and play along!

Pick o' the patch fall sign

I'm not much of a Halloween fan, but I do LOVE fall.  Harvest, apples, pumpkins...baking, spices, crisp fall air and the changing leaves....and don't even get me started on the comfort food - like fresh baked bread and savory stews...oh my!

Today I made a little sign to hang on our frig or bulletin board - even the door would be nice.  I used the Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month set that won't be available 'til next fall!!!!  The piecings is a new file from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  This set is absolutely adorable and this is my favorite cut...so far.

Here's a peek at the file.

Isn't it the cutest?   I feel more confident with my eyes...and with the piecings I've been doing.  I'm loving the look of these cute little guys.

This is my little door/wall hanging.  I just love this little guy.  It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Thank you so much for taking a peek at my project today.  Please leave a comment and let me know if you are familiar with Nikki's amazing files....and check them out at www.paperpiecingsbynikki.com

I'm going to be entering this in a few challenges.

First, The Crazy Challenge is asking for dots and stripes.  I added both to my wall hanging.

Second, My Craft Spot - to use a wild animal in your design - I used a bear!!!!

Third, Tuesday Teasers, is Anything Goes!!!!

Thinking outside the box - fall card

I've been looking at ways to add some more texture or 'pop' to my cards and scrapbook pages.  Pop Dots are wonderful tools...but there are lots of other things out there.  Today I am using raffia.  Here's what I came up with.

I am using one of Paper Piecings By Nikki's new fall files.  Here's a peek at the whole file:

After piecing my image, I used a standard paper punch to punch two holes in the dark brown paper.  Then, I threaded the raffia through.  Raffia is a great medium..you can tear and manipulate it, in all manner of ways.  Then I used pop dots to place my piecing over it.  I really like the way this "pops".

On the sign, I ran it through my cuddlebug and then ran some ink over it to distress it a bit.  I'm really happy with the way this came out!

I would love to hear some other ideas for making my designs "POP".  What do you use?

Thanks for taking  a peek at my project today!  I'm entering this in some challenges.

First is Cooking With Cricut - their challenge is to add texture!  You must use your cricut in some way - and I used it to cut out these files from Nikki!  The texture is my cool raffia!

Second in Shopping our Stash - their challenge is embossing.  I used my embossing folders on this one in two places!!!

Third is Tuesday Taggers - their challenge is anything goes.

Fourth is Tuesday Throwdown - using cut corners, edges, etc...  I love my Martha Stewart edge punches!

Fifth challenge is by My Craft Spot - usinga wild animal in your project...lucky for me, crows are wild!
