Two Page Layout for Baby

Good Morning all my scrappy, crafty friends!  My niece is going to be having baby number two, early in November.  New mom's are soooo busy, it's hard for them to find the time to scrapbook those first moments, so I made her a two page layout for the new baby's scrapbook.

I used the "Beary Beary Fun" paper piecing file from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I just love these little bears, and had so much fun making them.  I really like how the pages came together!

Thanks so much for taking a peek - hope you'll leave a comment and/or visit Paper Piecings By Nikki - tell her "Patti" sent you!

I am also entering this into the Love To Create Challenge - 'anything goes".

"Organize This Mess" Blog Hop

Welcome to "Organize This Mess" Blog Hop - brought to you by the Amazing Paper Piecings By Nikki.
One of the biggest complaints in our papercrafting world (no, it's not that you need more paper) is that we are unorganized. Our stuff is everywhere and never where we need it to be. It would be great if everything had a place and stayed in it's place!

That's what this hop is hoping to do - inspire you to get organized. Nikki has a great organizational file to help with this and I used it for my project today! Please hop along with us - if you do, and you leave a comment at every place along the way, you will be eligible to win some blog candy, that is sure to help add to your clutter!

If you just happened by and want to start at the beginning, please start with Kimberly. If you have come here from Mindy, then you are in the right spot.

These jars once contained scented candles. After they burned fully, I cleaned them out and stored them away. They are now home to my over-sized brads, small pieces of ribbon (the kind that's just enough for something...) and my special buttons. They look so cute on my shelf with Nikki's labels!

My Grandest Daughter, Lexi, is always wanting to put a tag on something. I simply printed out a bunch of Nikki's blank tags, cut them out, and then put them in this little box which sits on my craft table. Now, when ever she needs to label something - give a gift to someone, she can find one and use it. Of course, Nikki's piecings are sooooooooo cute on the tags, she takes my piecings too. I WON'T be making a box for piecings...after all, if she can't find them, she can't use them.....teeee heeeee!!!

Thanks for hopping by and I hope I've inspired you. Please leave a comment, so you can be eligible for the blog candy Nikki is offering, and leave your blog address, I'd love to come visit you too. The next stop will be my amazing sister, Linda.

The Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky is "Give a Hoot".  I just had to create something, since I love owls!  I used an owl paper piecing that I got from Paper Piecings With Nikki and made this little flip book.  I used K. Andrew Design Stamps set "Owly Whoo Sentiments" and will be using them again and again throughout the books pages.

Here is a look at the stamp set I used:

You can purchase your stamps here.

Getting Cricky Design Team Blog Hop!

We're so happy you could join us for this month's Getting Cricky Design Team Blog Hop!!  We have an EXTRA SPECIAL hop for you this month -- For the past week we've been celebrating the BRAND NEW additions to our Getting Cricky team by showcasing some of our FAVORITE K Andrew Designs Stamp Art Sets...  And NOW, we'd like for you to get to know more about us and our very special Guest Designer (and former Getting Cricky Design Team Sister), Larelyn from Handmade from My Heart!!  Throughout the hop you'll be introduced to each of the Design Team Members who will each share a little about their styles and preferences for stamping!!  We hope you'll enjoy each and every project along the way, so let's get hopping...

If you've hopped along from the talented Miranda then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Kristal's blog (you'll want to catch up on all the FUN!!)...

Each of Kristal's stamp sets benefit charity. At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Glaser Pediatric AIDS  Foundation, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), Wayside House for Women, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Adopt a Classroom, and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America.  You can learn even more about Kristal's stamps (and pick some up for yourself) by visiting her online store: K Andrew Designs:

Kristal's stamp sets are perfect for cards, layouts, and so much more...

For my project, I'm featuring the "Of Mice and Lil' Men" Stamp Set.  For more details or to make this set YOURS, please click on the preview:

I made this little box using the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close To My Heart.  I cut the box out at 6" and then layered some coordinating papers from my scrap box.  The little fireman is a paper piecing I made from Paper Piecings By Nikki.  I had fun distressing his edges with 'soot' from my brown stamp pad.  Of course, I had to add some stickles and give this some 'pop'.

Kristal's "Of Mice and Lil' Men"  "You're My Hero" stamp is just perfect for this little guy and say's all it needs to say!  I put a bit of white netting in the bag - the perfect thing to hold the little treasure I will put in this box.  Can't tell you what, cuz it's a surprise!

This is a second project I created for this hop.  A scrapbook layout using the same set of K. Andrew Design Stamps "Of Mice and Lil' Men" and another Paper Piecing By Nikki set.  I have two amazing grandest daughters that I do daycare for.  This is going to be a page of my little princess's just as they are on this date.

I am going to write them both a letter and place behind the scrapbook page.  Something I do from time to time, so that they have something personal from me.   I've left space on this page for the pictures and for journalling.

*** Remember -- As a special THANK YOU for joining us in welcoming the new team this week, you can use the promo code "letshavefun" at checkout for 20% OFF your ENTIRE stamp purchase!!  Woot-woot!!  Be sure to take advantage of this special before it's GONE!!  :)

Now you can hop on over to your next stop: The talented, Diana.

Close To My Heart inspired Explosion Purse

I am a new Close to My Heart Consultant - and I want to say that I am sooooooooooo in love with their products.  The best thing?  Their scissors!!!   If you want a pair of scissors that cut right to the tip of your paper, these are the scissors for you!  Not only that...their paper is amazing!  I never gave much thought about the quality of paper before...but you definitely notice it when you use their papers.  The only thing I am not sold on?  Their glue.  hmmmmm, not really sure why...just don't care for it.  Give me a ATG gun anytime and I'm happy!!!!

I found a link for an explosion purse and decided that I would use my new "Dotty For You" paper pack from CTMH.  If you are interested, you can get this pack for $5 when you order $35 worth of products.  Please take a look at my site www.pattiross.ctmh.com and especially the 'while supplies last' section.  I have to say that the journal, board book and soft set eyelet tool setter....and the paper packs are an amazing deal!

Well, here is the explosion purse I made.  I used K. Andrew Design Stamps for the sentiment.  The stamp set is called "Winged Things" and it is perfect for all the butterflies I have flying around on this purse.  I can't wait to decorate it with pictures/notes, etc....on the inside.

Front of the purse

Back of the purse - this is a dryer sheet butterfly!!!! Did you see I even found matching ribbon???

Inside of the explosion purse...lots of room for notes, pictures, etc...and even room for a little gift!

If  you are interested in seeing the tutorial for this purse, click HERE and it should bring you right to the instructions!

Thanks so much for taking a peek at this project...If you get real creative - make many purses as favors, making them at 1/2 size!

Good Luck and happy papercrafting!!!
